Baby Proof Jewellery! *Gumigem Review*

If you're anything like me, then your outfit won't be complete without a nice chunky necklace (usually from Primark, Dotty P's or George!)

I had a gap of about 3 years not being able to wear one from when Carson was born and recently stopped again as Finley is here. Several reasons as to why you just can't wear cosmetic jewellery around babies and toddlers:
* They break really easily - waste of money and ridiculously dangerous.
* Broken parts can cause choking.
* Even if they're not broken, stones/beads can fall out willy nilly without even realising.
* When caught or grabbed by your littlun, it hurts us mums too! (Oof, when the chain catches and tangles in your neck hair)

Gumigem have NAILED babyproof neck wear though!

Ingeniously made of non-toxic silicone, the stylish 'jewellery' is chewable, flexible and washable meaning babies can not only be safe from small parts but they also have something to teeth on as they get older. So handy!

I was kindly offered a Gumigem teething necklace to take a look at. I chose the Gumidrops, and the colour "purple rain", it retails at £15.95. I chose this design and colour as it goes with pretty much any colour top or dress that's in my wardrobe.

Gumigem teething necklaces are by far the most clever "mummy" accessory that I've discovered so far. It didn't snag on my hair if Finley had a yank and, more importantly, it didn't break thanks to the strong cord. The price tag is also more than fair: durable, practical, stylish - what more can you ask for?

Personally I believe this would be a great gift for a mummy or mum-to-be. Perhaps a stocking filler at Christmas? The zip case it comes in makes for a lovely little package in my opinion (and much easier to wrap!!)

There are plenty of other designs in a vast array of colours too. And hey, not just necklaces either - bangles to boot! You can view their range at www.gumigem.co.uk

Carson keeps asking if he can chew on it (scared of missing out on anything that kid!), errr no son! But when Finley starts teething, he most definitely can.

DISCLAIMER: I received the necklace FOC for purpose of review. I was not paid to write this post, all opinions are my own - open and honest as always

  1. My sister-in-law had one of these for my nephew as he loved to chew on anything and everything and she said it was one of the best items she had ever bought x

  3. I had a Gumigem! Really good, but my chain broke so that was no more. :(
Now I'm looking for another one though doesn't have to be for teething, just that my bf 22mo needs to be kept occupied while nursing. :)
