Personalised Baby's First Christmas Spoon Review

The word of the season, if you've been following the blog you'll know this already, starts with a P and ends in ERSONALISATION! Yes, I simply cannot get enough of personalised goodies. So thoughtful and such a special keepsake that will last for a long, long, time - way after Christmas -building on memories already made.

This year will be Finley's first Christmas so when The Dormouse and the Teapot offered to send over a vintage personalised spoon for our honest opinion, I was super excited to receive it. Carson has a few Baby's First Christmas keepsakes that we still put out each year and I'll be darned if Finley misses out!

My word. Wow, it is stunning.

So shiny and polished it was difficult to take a photograph of, even without the flash. The description on their site states that the spoon is small - I don't think so, hence the photos with a penny present, just to give you some perspective. It's much bigger than I expected which is wonderful because you can appreciate the quality stamp work of the personalisation.

That said,  The Dormouse and the Teapot state that vintage is their 'cup of tea' and when you browse their quaint online shop you can see that they are very true to their word. This means that each spoon ordered may well be different in terms of style or spoon stem design, adding to the already vintage feel, what with the cute gingham ribbon (available in 2 festive colours of green or red).  You're also free to choose from a Christmas Tree Stamp or the Holly Stamp, like mine.

The Dormouse and the Teapot have 6 'off the shelf' options, with personalisation choices such as insertion of the recipient's name, like mine. This isn't just for baby's either... If you know a newly-wed couple, for example, there's an adorable option for Mr & Mrs [insert surname]'s First Christmas 2014!

Right down to the packaging, this is a charming, personal gift to give. I'm going to hang this on the tree every year, just as my parents did with my first Christmas bauble right up until I was 18 years old (then allowed to have it for my own home's tree!)

At only £8 a piece, I am more than happy to recommend The Dormouse and The Teapot for this wonderful personalised spoon. You can visit their website, like on facebook or follow on twitter for more info and offers as they happen.

  20. My sister in law loves spoons. They're a symbol of dealing with chronic diseases. I wish I knew about this site when I was cobbling together a spoon ornament for her last year.
