*Review and Giveaway* MagicBed Travel Cot

I've kindly been sent a MagicBed - revolutionary cot-in-a-bag/pop up cot - to review and these are my findings, happy reading!

MagicBed carrier bag, complete with zipped storage pouch up front.

CONCEPT

Is it as simple as opening the bag and wallah! I must admit I had my doubts to begin with, "too good to be true" sprung to mind.
Magicbed also claims to be 4x lighter than the average travel cot.

Well GOOD! To both of the above points!

Let me tell you, a 'travel cot' brings back memories of a 2 person setup and 3 person put away. Heavy, clunky and  impossible to get back in its carrier. So yeah, up to now, MagicBed's concept is appealing.

MagicBed all set up!

PRODUCT USE

Well, would you believe it... you open the bag and the cot pops out fully formed,  Bravo!!

It's light,  it's slick and it's a damn sight better looking than the travel cots of old. Beautifully gender neutral, in choclate, this isn't a clunky item, but it's certainty sturdy enough to be fit for purpose. In fact, MagicBed has been tested and certified for folding children's beds until 3 years of age so think play pen / nap time etc for when baby grows older too.

There are two pockets at each end, only large enough for perhaps one folded nappy. Maybe better used for dummies or muslin cloths, or how about a baby monitor or a musical toy to aid with your babies napping?

Complete with folded mattress that you simply need to pop in to the hidden insert beneath base, it really is all you need in one simple bag.

Popping it back in the bag proved a tad difficult for me - but ONLY because my bump and boobs where so totally in the way! After watching their handy video's on the MagicBed website (www.magic-bed.com), I quickly realised that I don't need to see over my lumpy bits, it's as easy as twist, clip and bag. Panic over!!

MagicBed's RANGE

They also offer items such a sun canopy to make use of this outside - definitely worthwhile thinking about come the summer in my opinion. But my favourite idea from their range is the Mini MagicBed - a pop up/folding crib (similar to a moses basket/carry cot). This would be an immense help for the first few months once baby has arrived!

OVERALL OPINION

I really am impressed with the ease of use coupled with the charming design.  Aesthetically pleasing, compact, light, no-fuss, and a very reasonable cost of just £109 - I can potentially get up to 3 years of use out of this convenient cot. It's a must for expectant parents in my opinion and I am very grateful to have received this item to review for myself. I can't wait to get some use out of it now!!

  2. Thanks for the great review and giveaway! We go over to my parents holiday home on the Isle of Arran loads and this would be great to keep over there rather than having to take on in the car each time when we have enough to carry!

  12. Wow! I need this! I have a holiday coming up and a tiny car - The double buggy takes up the boot so if we don't win this we will have to take the 'normal' travel cot and not have room for our suitcase of clothes - Naked holidays anyone?!

  62. This is fantastic. We often visit friends in the evenings and end up staying quite late so we put our little girl down to sleep in one of the other rooms. Our travel cot is so big & clunky, I never seem to be able to get it up and so our little girl usually wakes herself up again before we've finished it would be fantastic to just pop this up lay her down and get on with our evening while she slept safe and sound.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Our little one doesn't like the cot or big boys bed - he flings his arms out and bashes the sides / bed guard and wakes himself up! Though we have no other option right now having no travel cot to try! Maybe this would be soft enough to not wake him, and I wouldn't have to get up. 20+ times a night!

  142. One hyperactive nephew,
Drives his mother round the bend,
    The other nearly due,
    This would be a God-send!

    I'd be the favourite sibling,
    To a brother very stressed,
    Financially they're struggling.
This would be the best :)

Well i'm never going to be the next Poet Laureate! Seriously though, my nephew spends so much time at our house and we don't have space for a fixed cot for him, so this would be ideal :)

    ReplyDelete
  146. This would be fantastic for my littlest munchkin

    ReplyDelete
  147. I have two children in cots at the moment. One 19 month old and one 7 week old.
I have a travel cot for my 19 month old for when we take her to visit family up north, but can see it being a huge ordeal carry two of the things! (Yup, it's the older style travel cot I have for her).
I think the magic bed could possibly be a lifesaver with me having to use trains (it's the changeovers that are a nightmare when carrying everything).

    ReplyDelete
  148. I would love this so I get a night just with my husband, going out for a dinner (which we havent done in ages) and having a proper lie-in, while the little ones sleep at nanny and grandads :)

    ReplyDelete
  149. i need one so i can take my grandson to the seaside for the first time.

    ReplyDelete
  150. This would be wonderful for my nephew so i can steal him to stay more often

    ReplyDelete
  151. This would be perfect for the granchildren when they come to stay.

    ReplyDelete
  152. This would be perfect for my little ones. We have two at home and no travel cot, where will they sleep?

    ReplyDelete
  153. I would love to be able to have my new Granddaughter (18 days old) to stay when she' a little bigger. My daughter in law will probably think of reasons why I can't (my son would be fine with it) such as I've got nowhere to put her (that is only because I gave them my travel cot for their older daughter). It would be nice to say yes I have!!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Lovely treat for our new-born Grandaughter
