#BabyBabble this week...

Mix teething with random chilblains with a blocked nose and cough. I refuse to dedicate another post of Baby Babble to my utter misery as a parent this week.

So I'm linking up a humourous TMI post, from pregnancy this week instead before I drown you all in virtual tears from my blogosphere!

Thanks for joining us again... can't wait to read your posts xx

The 6 Month struggle

I missed baby babble last week. Do you know why? Because I was sick to the back teeth (ironic!) of whinging about the teething stage. It has dominated our whole family's lives. It felt like there was nothing else to report on other than how bad it has been. It was getting to the point where I was literally sobbing at the edge of my bed at 5am after 4 solid hours of screaming from Finley.

How can a baby get by with this little sleep. There were hardly any naps in the day and very little sleep in the night. I think his teething pain, mixed with over-tiredness was making this all the more difficult.

Look at them eyebags and swollen cheeks!

Everyone I knew, after 2-3 solid weeks of these shenanigans, were all saying there must be something else bothering him. So on Monday night I took the decision to call the GP first thing in the morning on Tuesday.

Then, to my complete amazement, Monday night he didn't cry or wail - just screeched and jabbered away to himself. Tuesday he actually had naps - good lengthy naps at that. He went to bed at 7.30pm and slept right through without a peep until 6.30am. I gave him his dummy hoping I could get dressed quickly before feeding time and, get this... he fell back asleep until 8am! By 10am he still hadn't even whimpered once and was all smiles and coo's. Baby's are truly extraordinary creatures!

Here's hoping it continues.

In other news I gave him a small dot of cheese the other day - he hated it!! Too salty perhaps? He was really very annoyed with me, just look at that death stare! I also gave him a stick of cucumber to gnaw on - he wasn't too sure about that but did keep bringing it to his mouth. I think the cold was helping his teeth.

I've figured out how to successfully place him in his high chair - shove a cushion down his back. If the harness was attached to the back of the seat rather than the bottom of it, or if the connecting buckle was attached to the seat rather than the edge of the it, it wouldn't be a problem. Serious design flaw if you ask me. Anyway,  I'm hoping he'll settle down this week so I can begin to introduce finger foods. That should hopefully encourage those teeth to cut through and give him some relief at the same time.

What kind of finger food would you recommend? He's 7 months old on 4th December and other than pureed foods, he's only ever has cucumber, that dot of cheese, a crumb of sponge cake and a smidgen of milky bar button. Solids terrify me, but that's a story for another week...

23/10/2014 Baby Babble this week...

Thanks for coming along again! I appreciate every single one of you taking the time to link up and I just LOVE seeing your littluns progress each week. Can't wait to smile some more whilst reading them this week too :)

Seeing as BabyBabble isn't just about our bundles of joy in the flesh but pregnancies too, this week, after a bad week of back pain (pfft what else is new!), I'm going to link to an old pregnancy post which makes me stop in my tracks before I moan too much about my general aches and pains!

Ooooh, that horrendous thing called SPD...

Mini Milestone - We Have a Roller! #BabyBabble

Mini milestone this week at 21 weeks - we have a full blown back to front roller!

He's been trying for ages to do so, but always got his arm stuck and got incredibly frustrated. I tried to record it but it wasn't happening so I dedicated a few hours to snapping pics instead, then Photogrid lets you turn them into a video/slideshow thingymabob.

Well done Finley, super proud! Hopefully it works below so you can see him in action..

Time to get baby proofing... already!

Still waiting to hear from you as well regarding your win the week before...

#BabyBabble is back, with a chance to win each week!!

#BabyBabble has been away for a few weeks due to the very very difficult time I've been going through recently. I hope you all understand?
I'm getting back to it now and will be blogging more than ever by this time next week so for this week, as a warmer-upper, I'm going to link to an oldie. (You can too you know, don't feel pressured to write something new every week!)

As of next week, I will not only be commenting on and socially sharing each and every post linked up, I will be awarding one random blog linked up with a treat in the post right up until Christmas! By way of thanking you for sticking with me, regardless of the last 3 weeks off.

First little treat will be a sweetcone from Kings Gift Baskets (over on facebook HERE). You can enjoy it yourself, share it with the family, or even put aside for a stocking filler for your littlun.

Laaaaverly!

So, grab the badge (or link back, whatever you prefer), comment on the post marked "HOST" and at least 3 others and then link yourself up!

Introducing the #BabyBabble linky!

I've participated in lots of linky's and the majority truly are amazeballs. I love the variety of posts that are added, the interaction is fantastic and I find a lot of really interesting blogs that I end up following.

Some, however, just don't cut the mustard. So sorry to say it too because, in essence, linky's should be key in the blogging community. Honestly, I once spent over an hour and a half reading and commenting on every single persons linked-up post, only to receive just one view & comment back from it.

Okaaay, so I know that it's impossible for everyone to comment on every single post that's been added, but blogging is not only about taking, you simply HAVE to give too - else we'd get nowhere fast.

With Finley now here, I decided to create a linky of my own. Mainly because I don't want to bore everyone with baby mush all the time - a lot of my readers aren't parents yet and I don't want to turn 'em off by solely talking 'baby'. I know us parents find fluorescent yellow nappies simply fascinating but not everyone does, and I appreciate that!

So... With this new #BabyBabble linky, I can contain any gooey or TMI stories to just the one a week!

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
>Anything remotely baby related, that's not a review - simples! (age 0 - 4yrs )
>Expectant mums are free to join in too... I know most pregnant ladies live eat and breathe Baby Babble in the run up to B-Day!
>It doesn't have to be a new post specifically for this linky - the choice of post is yours.
>#BabyBabble will open every Thursday - so add it to your blogging diary!

MY PROMISE:
> I will comment on each and every post submitted to the linky. It's no chore, trust me. I love discovering new blogs, I just hope there are posts for me to comment on!!
> If you tweet me (@carsonsmummy) your post that you've linked to #BabyBabble with I will RT
> If you tag me on G+ +Jo Smith when sharing your post linked to #BabyBabble, I will +1 your post
> If you add your #BabyBabble post to my Facebook page, I will share it

I can't say fairer than all that, can I?! BUT... In return I would like you to...

Interview with a 5yr Old!

I commented on Nicola's post over at Barefoot Mahala and adored her Interview with her 3 year old. I asked her specifically to do this myself without ripping her idea off LOL!

So Carson, age 5... Insists on being called Sir for this post by the way...

A1: Spaghetti Cheese 'cuz it's so tasty and mum is the best cook in the world.
Mum comment: Well, you know...! *blush*

A2: Shops.

A10: My mum. You cook things lovely and you're the best mum I could ever have.

Thanks for reading! xx
