My Latest Bargain Buys - Vertbaudet

Finley eats anything. I'm not even joking.

I'm talking wood, stones, plastic... poo. All part of the sensory processing issue he has that comes hand in hand with the ASD unfortunately. Whilst we await the date of his first Occupational Therapy appointment, there are ways we have to try and prevent him for hurting himself by eating these things.

Trying to get to grips with a spoon

I can't buy 4 more eyeballs and 2 spare arms, even though it is 2016, but what I can do is find ways to ensure he is unable to get at these inedible goodies, for example by looking at things like playsuits and all-in-ones to stop the poop eating.

That brings me to the reason for this post actually... Yes, I hear your sigh of relief that there's no further poo details to come!

It's so hard to find these all-in-ones or baby grows in age 2-3, I'm finding that they seem to stop short at 18-24m. My lovely friend at work told me she'd found some online at Verbaudet and that there was a sale on so to be quick. She was so right! T-shirts from £1.80 were tempting but I had to remain focused on Finley's needs, and my poor little bank balance.

I chose 2 collared, short, playsuits and a cotton onesie with feet for bed time. For all 3 items it totalled just £12.60 (though delivery was £3.99 on top of this and it took a whole week to arrive, which is a little disappointing but doesn't take away from the absolute steals to be had).

*Review & Giveaway* Cantaloop Nursing Bra

As I'm coming closer to birth, I'm thinking more and more about my boobs.

Weird I know!

But their size have fluctuated so much and I'm still undecided as to whether breastfeeding will be right for me so I need to be prepared for all eventualities.

Further to reviewing the Cantaloop Nursing Tank Top a couple of weeks back, I was kind sent a Cantaloop Nursing Bra to test out, in anticipation of my hospital bag packing!

Here are my thoughts....

First and foremost, I have to say that my favourite aspect of the Cantaloop range is the way they have size brackets as opposed to individual bra/cup sizes. So, the fact you can generalise your size to cover a more broad range is a mega bonus for me.

As I say, the fluctuation of a pregnant woman's chest is unreal and just after giving birth to Carson, 6 years ago, I remember my breasts going rock hard and super round - I hadn't planned for that at all so having had poor fitting bra's in those first few days was just painfully uncomfortable.

I won't be making the same mistake again let me tell you - the sizing brackets will be perfect in helping me out with this!

I personally feel that the cups alone offer little in the way of actual support so the shoulders bear the brunt of the breasts weight.

Being size 18/20 with a large chest to begin with, my size luckily comes complete with shoulder support straps too.

You can see by the pictures that they certainly make a difference in terms of any 'cutting in' goes.

Essentially this bra is exactly what the nursing tank top offers, but without the bump covering! The drop cup, no seams, the simple one handed release.

It's super comfortable and comes in 4 different colours - white, beige, light rose and black. I have reviewed the black and can safely say that there are no irritating fluffy bits at the end of the day as it is a fast drying and breathable bra.

This bra was recently awarded the bronze award by Prima Baby & Pregnancy so I'm not alone in thinking that this is something worth having, and at circa £24 per bra from Boots (See here to buy online!), or Central Medical Supplies Ltd (See here to view entire range) they're not overly expensive compared to their competitors either.

I would recommend this bra whether for maternity wear, due to the convenient sizing scale, or for nursing due to its comfort and easy, one handed, access for practical breast feeding.

Courtesy of Cantaloop, I have one of these lovely bra's to offer to one of my readers, thank you Cantaloop!

*REVIEW & GIVEAWAY* Theraline Maternity & Nursing Pillow

As I've blogged about recently, SPD and pelvic pain is a condition that affects every aspect of your daily life, and sleeping is definitely the most upsetting as far as I'm concerned.

This made the opportunity to review the Theraline Original Maternity and Nursing Pillow all the more welcome as I'd heard good things, especially as it had also won the Mother & Baby Gold Award for the category of Maternity Product for 2014.

First impressions: IT'S HUGE!

On arrival of the Pillow I was, firstly, warmed by the design "Flower Field Orange"... cute little ladybugs, butterflies and flowers daintily dotted around. There is nothing remotely industrial-like with this product. For me, this is important. I already feel hindered with the condition of SPD, I don't want to have something ugly to help me through it.

 'Flower Field Orange' Design.
I have to admit that on feeling the pillow with my hands, before using it, I thought it had too little micro-bead filling. There was more length/material than filling, like half a tube of toothpaste... it's not what I was expecting. However, the last thing you want and/or need is a big bulging pillow...
Stretched out - It's nearly as long as the bed!!
The first night I snuggled into the Theraline Maternity Pillow, I was thinking about how to describe it, in type, for this review... I fell asleep before I could and I did not wake for over 5 hours. The most sleep I'd had in any one night, collectively, in the week prior to sleeping with support was 3 hours. So this was like an actual miracle!
To use it I place the bottom curve of the pillow between my legs. It really helps those with SPD because a) it makes rolling over easier but b) gravity doesn't pull you down and in to the mattress, you have support holding your legs in place thus steadying your pelvis.
Pillow between thighs and bump is supported
It's kind of weightless, the pillow moulds to your body so well that you cannot feel it. You only feel the support you're receiving.

I've been using this for 4 nights now, and I'm consistently getting approx 5 hours of undisturbed kip per night. I'm only waking up to go for the obligatory pee, rather than because I'm trying to get to get comfortable. Getting out of bed in any hurry could be a tad difficult because the pillow becomes one with your body, staying firmly in place so you have to remember that it's wedged between your legs before trying to move!

Retailing at £44.95 at John Lewis you don't just get use out of this during your pregnancy, it is perfect for nursing/feeding baby once they've arrived (see stock photo supplied). Additionally, the cover is removable, washable and replaceable as spare covers can be purchased.

Without sleep, you are no one. You can't function. So, my summary...

This is a versatile product with many uses providing ultimate comfort at a time in a woman's life where, sometimes, it feels impossible.

Without shadow of doubt I will be recommending this to all of my expecting friends from this day forth.
This product has been, and no doubt will continue to be, an absolute godsend.

DISCLAIMER: THIS ITEM WAS SENT TO ME FREE OF CHARGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVIEW. ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.
