Tiffany Rose: Not Just For Bumps! #WIN

You may remember, I was lucky enough to choose and review a Tiffany Rose dress of my choice when I was feeling pretty down on how my bump was hard to style. I'd never felt more glam, despite that 'ready to burst' inevitability. Check out the original review here before reading on.

You're probably wondering why I'm still buzzing about their beautiful range of dresses, given that I've not been pregnant for nearly 5 months now. Well, as my husband predicted in my first review, you really don't need to have a bump for these dresses to look incredible. The fact that they are 'no fuss' in terms of zips/buttons etc, mean they can comfortably mould to your shape, without exposing any unwanted lumps/bumps due to the high quality modesty lining.

Check this picture out below, the Eden Gown in Arabian Nights (RRP £169) both with and without a bump.

I adore my gown and I'm waiting for an occasion to wear it again. (What can I say, it's too good for the grocery shopping) I have a very important meal to attend towards the end of October so I'll wear it then. I'm going to feel and look just as good as I did at 35 weeks pregnant... Only this time, without the waddle and the ability to strut my stuff!

The New Arrivals are in at Tiffany Rose and I have been super lucky enough to offer one of my readers a prize. Not just any old prize, oh no.... Maternity Wear from Tiffany Rose

I have already written about the lack of maternity wear freely available to us larger ladies (size 18... now pushing a 20 thanks to baby weight).

Nothing feels quite right, you find that you're not wearing 'maternity' wear per say, just stretchy shiz instead, which I have coped with, marginally, up until now that is - especially with the weather changing now.

I am 35 weeks and 1 day today, I cannot move never mind feel womanly or beautiful in any way shape or form, so let me tell you that when Tiffany Rose offered for me to review one of their dresses from the SS14 range, I was a little excited to say the least.

I'm gunna go there and admit... I squealed like a lil piggy when I checked out what I could choose from - click here to flick through their virtual catalogue.
I was so pleased to see that a maternity wear specialist actually tailored for the size 18 pregnant woman too. The majority of their dresses to go to a size 6, which is 18-20.

Tiffany Rose Maternity Wear Presentation Box Delivered
Stunningly presented!

I opted for the stunning (seriously beautiful!) Eden Gown in Arabian Nights, the short length. I was umming and ahhing over the full length maxi version but, at 5 foot 4 and a half (yes... the half inch counts!), I didn't want to have to chance needing it to be taken up - especially given that it features a lace overlay.

bump in dress
Sash accentuates bump!
The Eden Gown is also available in Chocolate, Ivory Dream and Caspian Blue but, for me, the Arabian Nights - as a stunning Navy - is just perfect for my skin tone.

It arrived in a sturdy pinky purple presentation box and a further layering of delicate tissue upon opening making this THE perfect gift for someone special. (Gents, take note and spoil your Mrs')

The dress features Tiffany Rose's signature stretch lace which allows for a flattering flowing skirt after the under bust elastic, and comes with a satin sash to accentuate your bump, which is unusual as I find most brands try to hide bumps or streamline your figure.

The sash makes you feel like a true bloomin' mum-to-be... and not in a bad way.

The model on their site has it tied on the side so it skims over and hangs down bump, but I chose to tie it at the back so as not to get in my way.

I'm a fiddler you see!

If you wanted to update or revitalise your dress, you can order separate sashes if you like too - great idea.

This dress is luxurious to the touch. A seriously high class gown.

Weighty enough to not be flimsy and ensure your dignity is maintained at all times, but breathable enough to accomodate any hot flushes!

It moves with your body thanks to the stretchy Acetate/Elastane lining so I wasn't having to 'adjust' myself at all through out the entire night.

Speaking of the night! As I was feeling all super duper glam in my gown, I decided to get my face on to boot and I went on a dinner date with A in New Brighton.

The view across the Mersey whilst we sat at our table was to die for and I was feeling pretty awesome - I am certain this dress put me in this mood.

I moan all the time, heck you should know by reading my blog, but I felt a bajillion dollars wearing this.

I don't care that I've put weight on, or that my shape has gone to pot... I love how this dress makes me feel.

So when I disclosed how much this dress retails at (rrp £149) to A,  he didn't choke on his Pollo Carbonara (as I fully imagined him to do!) he agreed that seeing how comfortable and beautiful I was *blush moment* it was worth every penny.

He even suggested that the cut would allow for me to wear this after baby is born too and dya know what, he's right.

35 weeks bump in dress, occasion wear, maternity wear
So don't go thinking that once it's been worn once for your special occasion that it's destined to await another pregnancy - I will put it out there that I reckon ladies without bumps can wear these dresses with no problem at all.

Tiffany Rose are on Facebook and Twitter, why not go and say hi? Be sure to let them know you found them from here :-)

I 100% recommend Tiffany Rose for all your maternity occasion wear.
Go and take a look at Tiffany Rose www.tiffanyrose.com and let me know what you'd choose. I already have my eye on a few more beauties and I only have 5 weeks left to go haha!

What do you think of my dress then?
Go on... be honest ;-)

DISCLAIMER: I was sent this dress free of charge for the purpose of review. All opinions are honest and my own, I was not paid to write this post. I freakin' love this dress off of my own back!!

Family Fever

*Review & Giveaway* Cantaloop Pregnancy/Nursing Tank Top

Cute Packaging!
When Cantaloop offered to send me this top for the purpose of review, I was at a stage of becoming increasingly peed off with my (lack of) wardrobe. Great timing to say the least so I jumped at the chance! This is my experience over the past two weeks...

For the past 14 weeks or so, I have become accustomed to wearing a scarf plus a vest top under my tee/jumper every single day. I guess it gives me some kind of security in that my bump is ‘super’ covered and protected. (Am I strange?)

Anyhoo... the vests I had been wearing were the regular Primark & New Look vests @ a couple of quid each. Which are totally fine – until you reach for something or, well, generally move at all.

Then? Then it rides up.

Brain farts of ‘go for a bigger size, wally’ vaguely sailed through my mind – this doesn't work either though, as the shoulder straps slip and the underarm forever needs adjusting as the bigger top twists round and, again, ride up.

Honestly, I’m a moan bag I know, but for all you ladies out there who are awaiting their beautiful bump to appear, just don’t put yourself through the torment of constantly adjusting yourself. Oh, and if you have leaky boobs – like I've had for the majority of my pregnancy thus far – it’s even more annoying because you need to work around the layers to change your breast pads.

The Cantaloop Pregnancy/Nursing Tank Top, usually retailing at around £30, features...
> An integrated inner bra, meaning those layers can reduce straight away - bonus!
> The wide adjustable straps are awesome for additional confidence in your breast support too.
> The clasp, to enable nursing (or in my case, changing breast pads during pregnancy!), is so simple to open & close one handed. Just lift up, making a right angle with the clasp, and it's open.
> The 'rouching' below the bust allows bump to grow (and shrink - after birth!) without causing any stretching or misshaping of the vest itself.
> Seamless, so you can wear it under clothes if you're anything like me who dons a vest on a daily basis regardless of wardrobe choice!

I received mine in white - perfect for spring/summer IMO, especially under a floaty top perhaps, but they also come in black.

Thanks to cantaloop.com and Amazon.co.uk (who are currently selling these for a cracking £10.26 by the way!) I can offer one of my lovely readers the chance to win one of their very own... AWESOMES!!

There is only one mandatory entry, with several other additional and optional entries available to complete if you wish. Please make sure you validate your entry by entering via the Rafflecopter form below.

1. This is open to UK residents
2. Winner has 5 days to acknowledge and respond before another winner will be redrawn
3. All reasonable efforts and channels will be used to attempt contact.

So enter genuinely because, as you've probably gathered, I do check guys.
GOOD LUCK!!

Maternity wear on the highstreet

Read the title of this post and answer me this - Why can't I walk in to a shop and buy an item of maternity wear??

Desperate for work trousers as my bump grows I went to Birkenhead to shop for some. For those of you who are not familiar with Birkenhead, let me tell you where I went:

  • New Look
  • Next
  • M&S
  • Dorothy Perkins
  • Evans
  • TK Maxx
  • TJ Hughes
  • Primark
  • Bon Marche
  • Birkenhead Market (stalls)
  • River Island
  • Asda/George
I was on the brink of tears when not one single outlet sold maternity wear "you have to go online for that"...

WWWHHHYYY????????

I ended up buying a pair of stretchy waist pants from Bon Marche thinking they'd be ok - but their changing rooms are so unbelievably tiny I couldn't bend to take my pants off!!!  (By the way, I'm not kidding, the staff told me they are inundated by complaints but there's nothing they can do and it's no wonder they get so many returns as customers simply cannot try on in store!!) I didn't realise that the pleated elastic waistband would, of course, dig into growing bump rather than covering over or sitting under.

When I was expecting Carson, albeit 6 years ago, I bought my entire maternity wardrobe from Birkenhead high streets with no problems whatsoever. What the hell has changed?? Why am I made to feel like the odd one out?

...And surely... as we put on weight, it's harder to determine what clothes size we are. For example, I gathered I'd gone a size up on my top half as my (already large) boobs are suddenly monstrous, so I ordered a size 20/22 jumper instead of a 18/20 on one site but it was swimming on me and down by my knees. Of course, I didn't accommodate for the fact that it will already be larger because it's specifically maternity.

I don't want to buy trousers on line, wait for delivery, try them on, realise they don't fit, send them back to change for another size, await for them to be received and re-processed, wait for delivery..... you get my drift.

As if we need any more stress hey ladies?

Do you have any options for buying maternity wear - in person (!) - where you are? I'd love to hear your recommendations xxx
