Happy Father's Day

After everything that we have been through so far this year (and we're only half way through 2016!), there's no better time than to express my thanks and appreciation to my hubby for everything he is to our family. Let's face it, we often take Dad's for granted don't we. Sorry babe!

Only our second ever family photo!
A wonderful Father, putting the children before any of his own needs, he is loving and caring, ever encouraging them to do the best that they can. From the kisses and cuddles, tickling and being silly, to the teaching of life lessons, I wouldn't change anything about him. Just as I'm sure the kids feel.

I'm so happy about what Dad has bought me and made with me (lots of stuff!). My favourite thing about Dad is that he is very loving and I like it when he tickles me - even with his stubbly beard on my belly - he's so funny. Any jokes he ever tells me I laugh until my cheeks hurt. I think he is the best at impressions, they're awesome, especially Plankton from Spongebob. Second best is Squidward from Spongebob! So all I want to say is Happy Father's Day, Dad. I love you.

Beebeebeeeeb.

I find it strange that Carson's school has done absolutely nothing for Father's Day as opposed to shed-loads for Mother's Day. We have to send in a new item/product one day, then send our kids in with money to buy it back a few days later. Massive money spinner. I always end up with some bizarre second hand (ahem, used!!) body lotion or scratched pocket mirror. I don't know why I bother sending Carson in with something brand new, I never get a new item back haha! But the point is, they make Mother's Day such a huge deal, bringing home cards etc yet not a word has been uttered about Father's Day.

Whilst I appreciate that not everyone has a Dad, not everyone has a Mum either do they. And afterall, if you do 'only' have a mum ,she should be celebrated on Father's Day just as on Mother's Day - they are 2 parents rolled in to one! Any way, we've made Dad a card this year, designed and made completely by Carson himself and he is so excited about seeing his reaction to it. So much better than a shop bought card in my opinion.

I'm also holding a very special quiet moment for my own Dad today who is no longer with us, taken far far too soon. I will always love you too Dad. xx

Happy Father's Day everyone... hope you are appreciated, at least for today, as much as you deserve!

Welcome 2014!

So much stuff happened in 2013. Some horrendous - the worst I've ever experienced, some pretty amazing.

Hey, I'm alive and growing another life within me too... I can't argue with the fact that some good came out of 2013.

All I wish for in 2014, is that I'm still alive and that life currently within me, is living happily and independently, alongside my little man Carson!

Along the way, I'm going to try and make the most of it for myself too!

Having a baby is expensive and I intend on being frugal. I bought a lot of unnecessary things for Carson when I was expecting him, things that just didn't need to be bought! This will not happen in 2014, but if I win it though... I am deffo chuffed haha :-)

1. As I mentioned here in this post, I'm going to try and save £2 per day, Mon-Fri, (£10 a week) for the next 6 months at least. I'll do a write up of how much money I've managed to save each week if possible. Fancy doing a linky? >> Let me know! Never done a linky before, don't really know how to if I'm honest so, honestly, please comment with your thoughts!!
**UPDATED: PLEASE SEE HERE FOR #SUPERSUNDAYSAVINGS**

2. Anything I win will be kept aside towards Christmas 2014, be it vouchers to help with the food shopping, or items that can be used as gifts, every little helps!! Oh, apart from baby things, they will obviously be gratefully accepted and utilised on his impending arrival - not long to go now.

3. Try not to moan every day. Ok, Ok this sounds a little ridiculous but if I genuinely reflect on last year I realise that I don't deserve to moan nonsensically every single day.
There are people out there with much more awful things going on than me, so why I think moaning about people not binning the bog roll tubes is worthy of a tweet is beyond me... BE MORE POSITIVE!

So, when I wish you this - I mean it truly - HAPPY NEW YEAR xxx

I couldn't answer this question! Could you have?

So I'm lying in the bath trying to relax after a long day, and Carson comes in (as he does - scared of missing out on anything he is!).

CARSON: "Mum, How do I love you?"

Ummm... I wasn't too sure what that meant so pulled a funny face and made him laugh.

CARSON: "I'm serious mum! Please. How do I love you?"

Again... silence from me, pondering on what exactly he was getting at. I didn't get the context of his query!

CARSON: "You know, when you had me and I was a baby, you loved me - how did I love you?""

I kind of asked in a round about way if he meant how did he come to love me and I seemed to have nailed his quandary. My answer...??

ME: "I guess you just appreciate what I do for you and know the bond we share as mum and son"

CARSON: "Everyone loves their mum, mum. But HOW??"

I was stumped for an answer and before I had the chance, he looked at me in a pitiful way and quipped "Anyway, I do love you mum. Night" and off he toddled to bed.

So profound for a 5yr old!

What's the toughest question you've had landed on you by a little dude, and how did the situation end?
