Tradition flash back!

Just a quick post, well, more a question really.

Picking chicken off the bone ready for tonight's tea, I come across the wish bone. Talk about a blast from the past!

Did anyone else used to argue with their siblings as kids regarding who's turn it was to pull the wish bone after it had dried out?

Ha! Made me chuckle!

Carson wanted to know what was so funny about having dirty hands, so I told him all about our tradition as kids and he was super excited to pop it on the windowsill to dry out. On Wednesday, we have a date - and apparently he'll win.

Daamn! It's hard to 'fix' the breaking of a wish bone. I don't want him to be upset when I win, so I'll wish for him not to *mwahahaha!!* [Insert evil laugh, here]

So come on.... let me in on some of your traditions :-)

  1. We used to do that too! Liv would never for that tho she would look at me like I'm mad lol. A few years back we did start our own little thing on mothers day. We give her aunties happy auntie day presents every year nothing big just some sweets in a little gift bag and either a small flower/plant that fits in or jewellery she loves it.

  2. I used to argue with my dad about bone on a sunday roast (who could pick at it!). Think he just used to like the banter. We still do it now! :)

  3. Oh we always did this as kids and I did with my two for a bit, stopped again. Its a lovely tradition. We also used to try and peel an apple in one go and then drop the skin to see whose initial it made the shape of, as that would be the person you marry!

  5. We always did this and still do and I'm 22 this year, it was my granny who introduced me to it and she even bought me the wishbone charm from pandora to symbolise here.
